ATTENDANCE

  • Fall practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00 at the stadium.  Winter and Competition Team practice will not have a set schedule.

  • Arrive at practice prior to the designated time, in appropriate apparel, including hair up and off of face with no jewelry and wearing cheer shoes.

  • Lateness will be checked against time on the coach(es) phone.

  • Parent/Guardian needs to notify the coach if cheerleader is absent from school on a practice day.

  • If practice must be missed due to a non-illness or non-school related appointment, a 24 hour prior notice must be given by a parent/guardian.  Failure to have parent notification 24-hours prior will make the absence unexcused.

  • Projects and other after school homework activites need to be scheduled around practice and will not be considered excused.

  • Missing practice due to a detention or taking a test after school will require a note, pass or email from the teacher in order to be excused.

  • Sitting out due to an injury will require physician's verification after two (2) consecutive missed practice sessions for the same injury.

  • Absence from practice may result in your position in a cheer changing in order to accommodate the formation of the cheer.

  • Cheerleaders are responsible for all information or changes given during practice in their absence.  This includes learning cheers, dances, new formations, and date/time/schedule changes.

  • If you work, plan on scheduling your shift around practice times.

  • Early dismissal of Varisty does not necessarily apply to Jr. Varsity.

DRESS

  • No hoodies.

  • Hair pulled back off of face in a secure ponytail.

  • No jewelry of any kind with the exception of religious medals which should be taped to the inside of apparel.

  • Specially identified practice apparel will be mandatory for each practice.

  • Approved cheer shoes will be worn at all times.

  • No long fingernails that could potentially injure a teammate.

CONDUCT

  • No gum, candy or eating once practice time begins.  Only water and Gatorade/Powerade.

  • No vulgar language, cussing, innuendo, suggestive comments or suggestive motions/gestures.

  • Phones will be kept in bookbags throughout the length of practice.

  • No photography or video recording during practice without permission from a coach.

  • Repeated disruptive behavior during practice may result in the cheerleader calling their parent and being asked to leave.  This will count as an unexcused absence.

SKILLS

  • If you successfully performed a skill during tryouts, you will be expected to consistently perform that skill during practices.

  • There is to be absolutely no stunting or tumbling without a coach present.  Stunts may only be performed after receiving approval from a coach.

BALCONY

  • During practice in the balcony, all Varsity members will roll mats out onto the practice area.  All JV members will roll mats, secure them with a strap and return them to their storage area at the end of practice.  During competition practices, team members will be assigned a mat and will be responsible for both placement on the practice floor and return to storage.  No one leaves the practice area until all mats are returned to storage area and locked.
