• Varsity Cheerleaders will cheer all HOME Varsity basketball games for both girls and boys teams. Boys' games are usually on Fridays and Saturdays. Girls' games are usually Tuesdays and Fridays.   Other games during the week may also be scheduled.

 

• Junior Varsity Cheerleaders cheer at all HOME Sophomore basketball  games for both boys and girls teams. Boys' games are usually played prior to the Varsity game on Fridays and Saturdays.  Girls' games are usualy played prior to the Varsity game and are usually Tuesdays and Fridays.   Other games during the week may also be scheduled.

 

• Both Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleaders will perform the Mid-Illini Cheer when playing teams in the Mid-Illini Conference.  This will be performed between the first and second quarter of the Varsity game and only during Boys' games.  Junior Varsity Cheerleaders will perform on the visiting team's side while Varsity remains in front of the home crowd.  

 

• Junior Varsity may also be asked to cheer during Varsity games.  This may be for starting line up or other events.

 

• A schedule is given far enough in advance to make arrangements to avoid conflicts with games. 

 

TOURNAMENTS

• Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament-Varsity only

 

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES

• Cheerleaders must not stunt or tumble during a basketball game when the ball is in play, including free throws.

 

• Cheerleaders must remain outside the playing area during a 30-second or less timeout.

 

• No cheerleader should stand behind the free throw lane extended during a game.

 

 

• All appropriate transferrable rules from Football season will be applied to Basketball season.
